Tomorrow marks two historic occasions!  It is the 70th anniversary of D-Day as well as National Doughnut Day!  Now, one would think National Doughnut Day came after D-Day.  It must have been the brainchild of a marketing/pr agency.  However, if one researches the day, it began in the 1930s as a day to combat hunger during the Depression.

Tomorrow many doughnut businesses are offering free doughnuts with coffee tomorrow.

June 6th is the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.  D-Day is one of the most historic days in American history.  On June 6, American, Canadian, and English forces came together to invade France to stop Hitler’s Germany.  It was a deadly battle involving paratroopers, Navy, Air Force and Army troops.

Take time to pay tribute to the men and women who changed our world.  They gave us freedom and make the ultimate sacrifice.

Below is a interview from Major Miguel Reece.  His new book, The Disabled Veteran’s Story, tells stories from veterans of several battles.
